Exam Structure and Format
The B2 First (FCE) exam assesses a candidate’s ability to use English in a wide range of situations. The exam is divided into four sections:
Scoring and Results
Scoring System: The B2 First (FCE) uses the Cambridge English Scale, with scores ranging from 140 to 190. To pass, you need to achieve a score of at least 160. The exam is graded across the four sections, with each section contributing to your overall score.
Results and Certificate: Results are usually available online four to six weeks after the paper-based exam or two to three weeks after the computer-based exam. Certificates are sent out shortly after the results are released.
